And Then Came Paulette by Barbara Constantine (MacLehose Press, 256 pages, June 2)

This opens up the floodgates, with people from around the community coming to his farm for consolation and company. And then one guest comes who threatens to wreck everything...
Book of Numbers by Joshua Cohen (Random House, 592 pages, June 9)
In some ways, this book reminds me of Ex Machina. An elusive tech billionaire and founder of the world's most powerful technology company, "Principal" asks a "failed novelist, Josh Cohen" to ghost-write his memoirs when he finds out that he has terminal cancer. What Josh learns from "Principal" could ultimately threaten his life.
